Fall 2014, School update: Zane Smith is 32; Carol Smith is 29; Xander Gates is 25; George Tang, Anita Bryant, and Ethan Carter are 17; Lexi and Sammy Smith are 10; Lucas Craig is 7; Baine Austin is 6; Kat Gates and Violet Craig are 5; Lily Gates-Watson, Charlotte Craig, and Ethan and Adam Smith are 4
It’s the first day back at school and Xander is checking in on Kat as she heads off to her first day of kindergarten. Now he’s wondering just what exactly is that Lucas Craig doing standing so close to his little Baby Kat?
The school has gone through a few upgrades over the summer, one of which happens to be violins for the music class. Kat and Violet try out the new instruments while Lucas and Baine practice on the pianos.
Sammy is over on the synthesizer, trying to make something that sounds like music out of all of this noise. Xander is beginning to regret visiting the music class this morinng!
There are four new students this year and the preschool room has been made over with new toys and activities, and even new wallpaper.
Lily and Charlotte get to know each other while Ethan looks on with curiosity. Except for his older cousin Lexi and his baby sister Isabella, he’s never spent much time around girls.
Well, this isn’t so bad, Ethan thinks as Lily introduces herself. She doesn’t look like she’s infested with cooties.
But Ethan still prefers to play with his brother over the girls, and so the twins head off to the other side of the room to play cops and robbers for a while.
Lily has discovered the toybox and sits down to play. Charlotte isn’t interested in playing with stinky boys–she does have an older brother after all, and she knows just how annoying boys can be–so she thinks playing with the toys with Lily might be fun.
But, um, hello?? A car? “Where are the ponies?” Charlotte asks.
Zane is already having a hard time getting the seniors to focus on their work for more than five seconds. Most of them think they’ve already got it made until graduation and aren’t too interested in writing essays for English class.
Really though, he should probably be more concerned about his daughter. Lexi is down in the cafeteria eating an early lunch instead of in music class where she belongs!
Anita decides to take a break from her own essay to congratulate Ethan Carter on losing his virginity over the summer in a photo booth.
Zane really wishes he hadn’t heard that.
George doesn’t want Anita to feel left out, so he congratulates her on her own accomplishment over the summer too. Again, Zane wonders why he has to hear all about his students’ romantic lives?
Hey, Lexi finally makes it to a classroom. Not the right classroom, but still closer than she was before.
At lunch, Violet snags a table with her little crush Baine. Baine is still dealing with the sudden death of his mom and is a bit more withdrawn than before. Violet is doing her best to cheer him up. She tells him all about how she has two BFFs (um, which happen to be her mom and dad) and doesn’t he want to be her BFF too?
Over at the next table, Lexi–while eating her second lunch of the day–has taken it upon herself to give Kat a lecture about how important it is to make good grades or else you’ll be fed to Big Foot, who lives in the school’s basement. Kat is understandably terrified.
Ethan decides to make his own lunch instead of eating the one the school provided. Adam asks, “Are you really going to eat that?”
Resistance is futile, Baine. Like it or not, you will be Violet’s BFF!
Carol is enjoying the fact that right now her boys are happy their mom works at their school and aren’t embarrassed to be seen eating lunch with her. She’s sure that will change in just a few years, so she’s taking advantage of it while she can.
Lucas and Charlotte show that taste runs in the family. They both eat their own charred creations instead of the perfectly cooked macaroni and cheese the cook set out.
Lily is too excited about all the toys in the preschool room and so she never goes down for lunch. As soon as she gets home, she’s begging her parents for one of these tables!
After lunch, it’s time for the older kids to practice their music skills. Carol loves this class. It’s much friendlier to her ears.
Lucas is playing hooky from his P.E. class and is instead upstairs discussing his hatred for the performing arts with Ethan.
Carol manages to shoo Lucas off to his class and finally, beautiful music fills the room. She loves talking about music with the three members of Two-Bit Karma, and they’re always more than happy to have long discussions with her about it.
The younger kids are practicing throwing and catching right now in P.E. Violet is teamed up with Sammy and as she looks at him, she thinks maybe it’s too soon to limit herself to just one boy…
But Xander may want to keep a very close eye on his Baby Kat. It seems these little boys around here just can’t keep their eyes off of her!
—————————————————————————
This is the last time the older and younger kids will be in one school together. As you can see, I have a lot of younger kids (unplayable Heather Briggs didn’t even appear in any of the pictures, but she was there too) and still more babies and toddlers coming after them. So once Lexi and Sammy are old enough for high school, they’ll be moved to a different school that I’ll be building in Arcadia and this one will be for just preschool through sixth grade. I think it should make things a lot easier to split them up and only have to focus on one age group at a time. Of course, that means I’ll need some new teachers for the other school so I need to figure out who they will be!
Don’t forget you can still vote on the favorite couples poll as part of the anniversary celebration. Thank you so much to everyone who has voted so far! I’m really enjoying seeing who you all like best and it’s a very close race for the number one spot. I’m excited to share the results with you! On Saturday I’ll put up another poll for favorite couples that are no longer together. I also have polls planned for Worst Couples, Favorite Sim, Favorite Families, and I’m trying to think of any others that would be fun to do.Β If you have any ideas, I’d love to hear them! π
Also, following Laura’s assignment in her Hottest Couples post, I’ll post my own Hottest Couples of Pine Hollow list on Valentine’s Day. I’m cutting mine down to 10 because 20 would be almost all of my couples, lol. Some of the couples that made the list really surprised me!
I loooooooooove Kat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Resistance is futile, Baine. Like it or not, you will be Violetβs BFF!”
I was laughing so hard when I read that! You don’t really have that many older kids, do you? I loved the post (and Kat!!!)!!
Kat is so cute! I love her too. π
I don’t have very many older kids right now, but just wait until this current group of small kids gets older! It’s going to be crazy with all those teenagers running around. π
Xander needs to watch out! Violet bragging about her two BFF’s reminded me of Xander in his yonger years.
I love the school updates, it’s always nice to see what the kidlets are doing.
I Lol’d at Anita’s congratulations to Ethan. Big Ethan not little Ethan. Poor Zane having to hear all those things. Isn’t that what makes teaching high schoolers so much fun?
LOL, Xander has some competition for his awesomeness. π
Kat is just so adorable but Xander is going to have his hands full once she becomes a teen, if she’s already got boys following her around!
I had to laugh at Violet and Baine – she might be a little pushy but I think she means well!
Can’t wait to see your high school!
Xander is definitely going to have to keep a close eye on Kat! These boys already won’t leave her alone, lol.
Violet is pushy, but she has good intentions! She’s a sweet little girl and she just loves Baine. π
So funny, “she doesn’t look like she’s infected with cooties…”
Your school is really neat. Thanks for sharing it with us!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! It’s always fun playing the school and seeing what the kids do. π
Man! Kat is so cute, the boys that she attracts would go into an orbital lock around her.
And where did you get the pre-K objects from? Like the foam alphabet jigsaw pieces and such.
The boys just can’t control themselves when Kat is around, lol.
I found those school items thanks to Carla and her school posts. Most of the preschool objects came from SimCredible, on page 2 of the kids section. π
LOL! They are too cute, I agree Xander will have to keep an eye on little Kat-hopefully she’s not like her biological father when she gets older. I can’t wait to see the new school, I’m itching to seperate Apple Valley’s primary and secondary students into differents schools, but I don’t have anywhere near enough students to justify that.
I hope Kat doesn’t take after Nathan too much, lol! π
I’ve been wanting to split up the younger and older kids, but I didn’t have enough students to really make it worthwhile until now. My Sims are breeding like rabbits lately. π
How sweet is Kat? And Violet cheering up Baine, what a sweet, persistent girl. Seeing Baine just broke my heart, poor little guy. Must be hard having Carol there with her sons too.
I love seeing what all the little ones do on their own, and their lunch choices, funny kiddos.
I love Kat and Violet. I can’t wait until they get older to see what they get into. π
I’ve been busy so I haven’t had a chance to come and check things out and comment in a while. But I love how things are coming along! And jeez I can’t believe it’s been that long! I still remember things @ silvertuesday. So Congrats! I really like the preschool set up, it’s very cute! And yes, high school teachers hear all sorts of TMI!
I understand about being busy! π Thanks for stopping by and commenting though! It’s crazy to think how long I’ve been playing with the Sims 2 now. It doesn’t seem like that long ago that I was eagerly awaiting the release of the base game. π
Oh man! I am going to have to second everything everyone else has said about Kat–I love her. Xander makes some pretty awesome offspring. π
I had nearly forgotten that Pinehollw was also turning two! Congrats! I still remember your old, old blog… and when I ran across it along with Jen’s. That seems like FOREVER ago.
Now you’re like, a published author and everything, LOL!
It’s crazy.
I love Kat too! She’s so cute, and I can’t wait until she becomes a teen. π
Thanks! It does seem like a long time since I started that old blog! Crazy.
