“Gross,” Baine mutters as he walks into the house after spending the afternoon visiting Violet Craig. It’s been a year and a half since his dad married Viola, but Baine still hasn’t gotten used to having a stepmother around the house. And he doesn’t think he’ll ever get used to seeing them do all that disgusting mushy stuff.

Shattered (Winter)

February 2018:
Waylon Menon is 37, Baine Austin is 9
(Lucas Craig is 10, Audrey Sutton is 28)

Baine doesn’t like it when things change. Change is never good. Change meant that his mom died. And now change means that his best friend Lucas doesn’t want to play all the games that they used to play together. Lucas is only a year older, but lately it feels more like ten years older. He’s getting taller, more boring, and doesn’t want to do all of the things Baine wants to do anymore.

Spring 2016: Sarah Menon is 57, Jason Menon is 48 (Ian Lloyd is 26, Matthew Lloyd is 2)

Sarah loves getting up early, when the sun is just starting to crest over the horizon, and cooking breakfast in her quiet kitchen. This was Jason’s apartment before she moved in, but it feels now like she’s finally found the home she’s been looking for. All her life, she’s moved around–from her dads’ house to Eric’s, then back to her dads’, then to Zared’s. No place has ever felt like hers until now.
