The Lloyd family decided to adopt a new puppy. They picked out a little dog named Scout.

Behind schedule & overheard
Posted in Uncategorized on January 28, 2009| 5 Comments »
Due to meetings, the usual Wednesday posting won’t be up until Thursday. It works out okay because I wasn’t going to be able to do Friday’s usual post either because of a speaking engagement I have that day. So check back on Thursday for the Lloyd 2 update. Not sure if I’ll get Friday’s usual update up on Saturday or if I’ll just wait until Monday. I’m at the point now that I’m posting updates as soon as I play them, so I have no buffer of entries saved up to schedule for posting on days when I don’t have time to write. I’m actually still in the middle of playing the Sutton update, the next family that comes after Lloyd 2. So I have to finish playing them before I can post any new updates.
Anyway, here’s something I meant to post but hadn’t gotten around to yet. While I was searching through the racks at Goodwill a couple months ago, I overheard the cashier saying to a customer, “When I’m at work, time goes by so slow and when I’m at home it feels like it flies by. I play this game–it’s called The Sims–and when they go to work, time speeds up. Then it slows down when they come back home. I wish real life was like that!”
Oh, I do too. 😀

Smith Family – Moving On (Round 10, Spring)

I could have sworn I checked to make sure Snag-It was on when I played the Smith family this round. I’ve been really good about checking before starting up the game. But apparently I didn’t because when I went to get the pictures ready this weekend I found that there were only a few pictures in my folder.
I played this family before my mother-in-law got sick, so it’s been over two weeks and I don’t remember what all happened this round, except that Ian grew up. So here are the few pictures I do have. I’ll make it up to you on Wednesday with a long Craig update. 😉
Striking Out (Round 10, Spring)

“I think maybe I should start dating,” Robert Lloyd told his daughter.
Carrie Lloyd Gates looked startled. “Why would you want to date?”
“I need to meet new people,” Robert said. “Move on with my life since your mother’s death.”
The thought of her elderly father dating was enough to make Carrie feel sick.
Round 10 ROS

Thanks again everyone for the comments on my mother-in-law. She’s out of the hospital and doing mostly well. We had a scare Monday night, when she had a mini-stroke, but she was out of the hospital again within five hours. It’s still a wait and see game.
I’ve been sick this week, so that’s why I haven’t updated or felt like playing at all. I’m going to try to get the Gates family update written tomorrow and hopefully posted as well.
I wanted to give you the round’s random occurrence scenarios ahead of time, borrowing an idea from Laura. I’ll tell you what they are, but not who they’ll happen to! 🙂
- Night out with the gang! Choose an activity and then invite Sim’s closest non-family member out for fun.
- Blind date rampage. Must go on three blind dates, one each night until complete.
- Sim accidentally drinks poison! (Yikes!)
- Meet someone new. Pick someone Sim hasn’t met yet and arrange a meeting.
College – Stalker (Round 9)

Thank you all so much for your comments on my last post! Things are somewhat better. My mother-in-law had a stroke late Monday night and was admitted into the intensive care unit. She was kept in a medicated coma and on life support for two days, but now she’s awake, breathing on her own, and able to talk and recognize people. She’s still in ICU for now, but she’s doing much better than she was earlier this week.
My play time may still be limited for a while longer, but I already had this post written up and saved in WordPress, so I wanted to go ahead and publish it.
Twins Zared and Zane Smith headed off to college at PMBC, along with Zane’s girlfriend Belinda Nichols.
On hold

We’re dealing with a serious family emergency, so updates will be on hold for at least the next few days.
