Short break

I ended Round 11 at a good time. This blog will be on a bit of a break and there will be no new entries until after May 4. I’m currently wearing a wrist brace to treat tendonitis so typing is a bit harder right now. So in a week or so, come back and we’ll start Round 12. 🙂

“College is a great time to meet new people and experience new things,” Annette tells Darin West. “Like how you and I met here at college.”

“Uh-huh,” Darin says.

Pine Mountain Business College has seen a boom in student population. With the recent remodeling of the dorms to allow for roommates sharing a dorm room, more students arrive on campus for the next semester.

Jessica Craig is entering her junior year at PMBC and joining her as freshmen are her brother Tucker Craig, her nephew Jason Lloyd, her friend Todd Gates, and Pine Hollow townies Cynthia Morris and Darin West.

It was something that they had talked about off and on, every now and then. Not really very seriously, just in a “one day” kind of discussion.

But now, Orion Gates is serious when he says to his wife, “Why don’t we look for a bigger house?”

The family’s tiny home had been paid off long ago and so selling the house would give them all profit. They can easily afford a bigger, nicer home. The little house had served them well and it wasn’t too tight of a squeeze since they had only one child, but the three of them plus a big dog did run into traffic jams at times.

Bessie is a bit sad about leaving the little house she had raised her son in, but the idea does appeal to her. “We could have an art studio again,” she says. “Like we did before Xander was born.”
